It hosts the Brooklyn Makers Market, food festival pop-ups, and corporate off-site events throughout the year. The campus is accessible off the Brooklyn–Queens Expressway at 39th Street, but the surrounding Sunset Park street grid is narrow and permit-only for most of the day, making large-vehicle drop-off on 36th Street at the Industry City main gate the cleanest approach for groups.

Brooklyn Bridge Park (334 Furman St, Brooklyn, NY 11201) stretches 1.3 miles along the East River waterfront from the Manhattan Bridge to Atlantic Avenue — 85 acres of lawns, piers, playgrounds, and one of the most photographed views of Lower Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge anywhere in the city. Pier 1 hosts summer movie nights, the Smorgasburg food market runs every Saturday at Pier 5 from April through October, and Jane's Carousel (a restored 1922 merry-go-round) operates on Pier 0 daily in season. The DUMBO street grid at the park's north end — Water Street, Front Street, and the area below the Manhattan Bridge — is one-way and narrow, and street parking is metered and scarce.
